1. Plan ahead

One of the best ways that you can help drive traffic to your website is with great blog posts and pages. But these don’t just magically appear! We suggest taking a couple of minutes to plan and research what you want to write about. 

There are lots of different websites that can help you do this, but a very easy way to see what other people are writing about is just with Google! Type in a word that is relevant to your business, and Google will show what your potential customers have been searching. Now you know, for example, that you should write a coffee cake recipe, or talk about coffee machines!

Similarly, if you head to the bottom of the page, you’ll see Google’s related searches. These can give you even more ideas, and also act as great keywords. Use these as ideas when you have time to write a full blog post. They’ll help improve your SEO and attract more visitors to your website.

2. Update your headlines

If you already have a great back-log of content on your website, it’s also a great idea to update your blog headlines and titles. Are they as intriguing as possible? We suggest adding power words to your headlines – these are words that spark interest and emotion!

So instead of ‘5 Ways to Style Your Hair’, you could change the title to ‘Discover Your New Look with these 5 Gorgeous Hairstyles’. Power words like ‘discover’ and ‘gorgeous’ will encourage people to click onto your website if they find it on Google or social media.

3. Share on social media

Speaking of social media, if you only have a couple of spare minutes, you should try to post your latest blog or update on social media! It’s a very easy way to encourage your followers to click onto your website. You could also encourage friends and family to share your post as well, as that will get your website in front of even more potential customers!

You can find new customers on pretty much any social media platform – Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc – so don’t limit yourself to just one!

4. Invite an expert onto your site

If you don’t have the time to write a blog post yourself, you could invite a guest blogger to help you! Ideally, this person is an expert in your field who has an interesting perspective and a ready-built audience.

This is a great tactic for getting more traffic to your website because the guest blogger will (usually!) post the link onto their website and social media. So you’ll be tapping into their audience as well as giving yours a new reason to click onto your site. It’s also a great way to create new material for your SEO.
