Get Ahead of your competitors with your marketing

Through the next few months, small businesses across the country will be reopening – hooray! If that includes your business, you’re probably excited to get back to normal again. Back to normal will also mean getting your marketing back in order once again. Right now is an excellent time to use your marketing to put yourself ahead of your competitors, so in this post we explain why and how!

Why you should get ahead

This is an especially important time to get ahead of your competitors. Many businesses will be reopening in the next few months, and they’ll be shouting about it from the rooftops! You need to ensure that your business’ voice can also be heard. It’s more important than ever to ensure that your dedicated customers know that you’re back, and that your products or services are better than ever.

Our top tips

1. Create a smart social media campaign – firstly, it’s important that your customers know that you have just reopened or are reopening soon! You can use your social media channels to let all of your customers know what date you’ll be opening, and if anything has changed about your business (e.g. new Covid precautions).

One fun option would be creating a countdown to your reopening! Each day you could introduce a new product, talk about what you’ve been doing since your business was last open, or discuss what your business plans are for the rest of 2021!

2. Focus on SEO – it’s also a good idea to take a look at your website’s SEO. Take the time to look through each page of your website. Do they all have meta descriptions, working links and optimised images? There are lots of quick things you can do to ensure that your business ranks as high as it can on search engines like Google.

3. Update your website – you should also update your website before you reopen. Make sure that you update it to explain your Covid precautions, introduce any new products or services, and check that all of your contact information is correct.

If you have a blog, then you should definitely write a new post! This is another great place for you to announce that your business is reopening, and to talk about any updates that might interest your customers. If you don’t have a blog, then this might be a great time for you to start one. There are a lot of things to talk about right now!

4. Focus on high-quality images – finally, we also recommend looking at the images that you have on our website and your social media. Make sure that they’re high-quality and up-to-date. If they’re not, we suggest taking some new photos of your products, any business space, or even yourself! Update your website with them, and use them throughout your socials!

Those are just some things that can help you get ahead of your competitors before you reopen this spring. If you’d like some help with creating a social media campaign or updating your SEO, then contact us soon!
